Consistent podium finishes keep Shimoda second in championship standings
At round 10 of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Unadilla MX, Honda HRC Progressive’s Jo Shimoda delivered another consistent performance to take second overall in the 250 class. The result adds to his season tally of podiums and maintains his strong position in the championship standings with just one round remaining.
Shimoda displayed impressive speed across both motos, finishing runner-up each time. In the opening race, he powered his CRF250RWE into contention early and held his pace to secure second. In moto 2, Shimoda again ran inside the lead group, showcasing his trademark consistency and determination to claim another runner-up finish.
With his 2-2 scores, Shimoda claimed second overall on the day, further strengthening his position as one of the top riders in the highly competitive 250 field. He remains second in the championship standings, 51 points behind the leader, heading into the Budds Creek National finale.
Looking Ahead
Shimoda and the Honda HRC Progressive team will close out the AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Budds Creek in Mechanicsville, Maryland, on August 23, before shifting focus to the SuperMotocross World Championship Playoffs beginning September 6 in Concord, North Carolina.
