AMA Pro Motocross 2025 – Round 11
Strong 3-2 finishes cap off another podium season for Honda HRC Progressive’s Japanese star

The AMA Pro Motocross season concluded at Budds Creek MX, where Honda HRC Progressive’s Jo Shimoda wrapped up his campaign with second overall on the day and ultimately secured second place in the 250 class championship standings.

Shimoda started the opening moto in third place and was running near the front when a red flag reset the race. Restarting eighth, he mounted a determined charge through the field, climbing to second before the midway point. He held the spot to the finish but was later assessed a one-position penalty and a five-point deduction for a red-cross flag infraction, leaving him credited with third.

In moto 2, Shimoda was fifth out of turn one and quickly advanced into third. He made the pass for second before another red flag on lap four brought a staggered restart. From there, Shimoda maintained a strong pace to finish runner-up, giving him 3-2 scores for second overall.

With his podium performance at Budds Creek, Shimoda capped a consistent 2025 Pro Motocross season with multiple overall wins and podiums, firmly establishing himself as one of the premier competitors in the 250 division.

Looking Ahead

With the Pro Motocross season complete, Shimoda and the Honda HRC Progressive team will turn their attention to the SuperMotocross World Championship Playoffs, kicking off September 6 in Concord, North Carolina.
