Shimoda Wins in the Woods at Washougal

AMA Pro Motocross 2025 – Round 8
Shimoda makes it two overall wins in three races, with 2-1 scores in the 250 class

For the second time this season and the second time in the last three rounds. Honda HRC Progressive’s Jo Shimoda captured the overall win in the 250 class, this time at the scenic Washougal MX Park. The Japanese star delivered consistent 2-1 Moto scores to secure his second overall victory of the season and the fifth of his career.

After a seventh-place start in Moto 1, Shimoda wasted no time moving forward, climbing into third by lap two and advancing to second the following lap. He maintained his position for the remainder of the race, setting up a strong overall bid.

In moto 2, Shimoda started second and quickly took over the lead on lap two. From there, he rode flawlessly, building a commanding margin of more than 18 seconds by the checkered flag. The dominant ride secured the day’s overall win with 2-1 results.

Looking Ahead

The series resumes on August 9 at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana, as Shimoda looks to continue his strong run into the closing rounds of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
